My least favorite car...

| Posted: 6/27/2012 7:52:13 PM its a uick... My least favorite car was my first. A 1976 Buick Skyhawk. Though the make decal was missing the "B" so it was a uick. It was red - during those days that car manufacturers felt the need to be monochrome. Red exterior, red dash, red seats, red carpet. Worse yet, it wasn't a 'red' red. More of 'kindoforangeandinneedofawaxjob' red. I so much appreciated my parents for getting me a car that I fell in love, but we had problems with it almost immediately. According to our mechanic at the time, those model cars (that also included the Chevy Monza and some Pontiac)were built with a unique frame design. Don't know what the purpose was, but the result was for the tendancy to split down the middle. Definitely not a desirable characteristic in a car. Still have great memories of the car. It represented a freedom. A future. On the road in my uick. |
